    the God of the land,

    Asteria

    this Goddess is the supreme deity of the land of the lilis empire; She is the sole creator and law-maker due to her benevolence, the inventor of all things necessary for human life, the healer for all who are wounded. beloved by all, She has taken her rightful place in history as the pious God, due to her altruism and sweetness towards all who reside under her care. but there is one thing she has long given up: being the one out on the battlefield to lead her troops into whatever battle they must return victorious from.

    due to this, She has taken many a knight as her grand cross, with them often never leaving her side aside from when they are needed in battle. whether this attachment be due to their devotion to their God or something far more powerful, She is careful in ensuring their proper care - and that their loyalty does not falter.

    Her loyal grand cross,

    LUKE

    once the peasant boy who dreamed of becoming Her loyal grand cross, luke is now the most feared knight in and far beyond the empire, tales of his ventures spreading to the farthest corners of the globe. his wish to be the one Her Divinity chose to become the next grand cross came true, and from the day he was sworn in by her very own hand he has never left her side.

    whether this is due to his devotion to Her Divinity or because of his lowly mortal feelings towards her, one can not say. all that one knows is that he will do anything to prove his loyalty, and to prove that he should like to stay by her side for eternity. regardless of if he is mortal or not, he is sure to enjoy every moment he is able to spend with Her, and is eager to go to war in Her honor. maybe some answers can be found written in the stars…

    uh… restart?

    as the title says, i went back to the drawing board (literally) and rethought the character designs. now they’re much better!!look at them!!now, time for a little break for thanksgiving… and by break, i mean time for me to work :’)

    character designs!! i've been having a lot of fun drawing asteria, so there's obviously more drawings of her done. but don't worry, luke hasn't been forgotten! he's here too, but his acting reference page will come a bit later :)

    back to work

    guess who stressed herself out so much that she got herself wildly sick...
    me!    now that I'm feeling a little bit better, it's time to get back to work and catch up on all of the stuff i missed! I've still been able to work on nailing down the designs for both Luke and Asteria, but otherwise, I've gotta get moving on everything else :(next up is research on statues, castles, and knights! after i stop crying about that alien stage round... october has been rough.

    thought i had some banger ideas for my characters, but I've gotta go back and restart... this stinks, because i was actually really happy with their designs. c'est la vie, i guess. i will report back once things are fixed :(

    first animatic done!

    goodness gracious i need five years of sleep.already.regardless, the first animatic for this is done! yay! currently, I'm revising some shots and fixing some compositions, seeing how some parts are quite repetitive. the, onto character designs and turnarounds (so i can actually work on the next version of this animatic 😭)

    yay yippie hooray whoopee!

    y’all omg. we did it. we’re one step closer to getting this film out there!! we’ve got audio permissions!!i genuinely could not be more excited to get the ball rolling on this and to get things moving. so many ideas have been living inside of my head for so long that it may explode if i can’t get even a few of them out (thank you to my family and friends for listening to me yap all summer long about what this film was going to be, i love you all dearly).now, onto the first animatic! (and to go read that new elsie silver book. . . when i have time, of course. . .)

    the beginning of the anxiety attack

    the school year has officially started! yay!that means that i now get to present the idea to my peers and advisor. that’s not nerve wracking at all no way not one bit (i say as i’m shaking while typing this).i’m gonna take some time to finalize the plans for this film and will be sure to update here afterwards. spreadsheets. . . numbers. . . timelines. . . yay. . .will report back! now, i’m off to bed because i’m exhausted! it’s what the goddess would want, trust me 🫡

    happy birthday me + update

    yay yay yay more drawing!!! aka more drawings that i will never EVER show anyone. yay!!!i’ve been hard at work using my rights as God for the day to channel my inner Elysia, which meant choosing to work on preproduction for this film instead of doing any fun birthday stuff. but this is fun birthday stuff to me, so i’m enjoying life thoroughly right now.

    i have researched more than i ever have for a project. and i mean that.with the plans for this film being somewhat set in stone already, now is the time where i figure out where i want the key plotpoints to be and how i want the environments to look. so... research!lots of statues, sculptures, and paintings have made their way onto my gigantic reference collage... just a little hint for how this story is gonna pan out o7

    the descent into hell

    i'm officially in production hell. which is rather comical considering this film somewhat revolves around... heavenly bodies and ideals.i have most of the story beats figured out, which is... both relieving and stressful, since now i have to consistently go back to the drawing board as i'm... drawing everything out. but that's all part of the process, and i've already started boarding out some scenes! yay! as always, i'll be back... stick around for more fun stuff :)

    this section is mainly me, the director, discussing all of the progress and behind-the-scenes stuff related to the film.as of today, this film has been born... at least, the idea of it exists. for now, this entire site will be a massive work-in-progress, especially as i sort out the overall vibe and setting of this story.lots of areas on this site will be closed off for now, but don't worry! everything will become clear very soon ♡
